Our Story

Life Balance Technologies was founded by Corey Kilpack and Steven Manz, who combined their backgrounds in auditing, modeling, and infection control to develop KPac™, the Life Balance software.

While working in the HVAC industry—specifically testing and balancing services for hospitals— Corey became aware of the shortcomings of the current reporting processes and systems. He developed his own infection control model that overlaid his innovative air balancing models onto the Life Safety Maps that are common to every public building. He was able to create a report that addressed not only the mechanical systems of a facility, but it also tested all parameters of the national and state standards for each room on the report.

Life Balance will eventually incorporate machine learning technologies to streamline modeling for hospital HVAC systems, and is integrating cloud computing techniques to accelerate processing the algorithms and graphics.

Our Software

Life Balance’s KPac™ software solution applies the standards required for accreditation, infection control, Life Safety, and the mechanical standards for construction and operation of a healthcare building. The KPac report is concise, clean, and does not require an engineering degree to understand. While that may seem like a simplification, it is an important element of our design.
